Hi, I’m Ute, the owner of Ute’s International Lounge and founder of this Academy.
This Academy is the platform where I offer all my courses and webinars online.
The courses are designed to be followed individually at your own convenience, whereas the webinars are live.
I have a PhD in Romance Philology and have worked as Assistant Professor at the Department of Italian Historical Linguistics at the University of Zurich (Switzerland), as Senior Researcher in French and Italian Philology, Editor, Lecturer and Linguist, before starting Ute’s International Lounge in 2014.
I have written more than 500 posts, guest-posts, chapters in books about the topics that I teach at this Academy.
Furthermore, I collaborate with experts in the field.
You can find interviews experts on topics related to raising multilinguals and multiculturals abroad on Raising Multilinguals LIVE as well as on my own youtube channel.
The Toolbox for Multilingual Families is a collection of 123 activities and games to foster understanding, speaking, reading and writing in 0 to 15+ year old children.
This guide for parents who are raising their children with multiple languages is available in different languages.
I am multilingual “since birth” and I speak, read and write Italian, German, French, English and Dutch fluently, and Spanish (A2 level; working on it), as well as some Italian and German dialects, Old-French and Old-Provencal – I am currently learning Korean. I also speak fluently Swiss German.

All the courses and webinars in this Academy are designed by me and are my intellectual property. For some of them I collaborate with other experts to make sure to offer high quality.
I have held more than 200 tailored workshops, webinars, trainings and talks on a variety of topics, in person and online for international companies, schools, daycares, parent groups, teachers, pupils and health organizations since 2014.
I re-design them one by one, and offer them as online courses – longer courses, i.e. self paced 4-6 week courses, but also shorter ones – and live webinars at this Academy to make them accessible to everyone.
